In general, parents are just saying NO to kids when it comes to their social media because most adults have a hard time understanding what kids are actually doing online.
How can you possibly keep up? Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and more. There are just so many places kids are exploring without parental guidance. Truth is, most adults are oblivious to the opportunities and the dangers. Social media is a scary subject to talk about at home and it’s extremely hard to give guidance, because none of us were there when we were their age.
In their engaging and fun social media presentation, Joe Whitbread and Jo Phillips from Jo(e) Social Media help steer a positive conversation about all these places you know little about. They help get kids and adults on the same page, to help start a family plan using social media, safely. Social media isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon, and it’s time we started talking about it.
On February 21st, join Joe and Jo from Jo(e) Social Media at Dance Magic in Red Deer for this informative, entertaining and important conversation about social media.
