Winter is upon us in all its glory, with bitterly cold winds and an endless amount of falling snow.  I must say, it’s very pretty and festive – all bright and sparkly when the sun shines – but WOW is it cold!  Never fear, Dance Magic is here!  Here are some tips to thaw out your tootsies on these cold winter days…

For all you dance moms out there – Zumba!!  Tuesday at 9:30am (Collicutt), Thursday at 8:50pm (Collicutt) and Saturday at 11:15am (North studio) – drop in and warm up your body with some fast moves and fun music!

I stopped by the Collicutt Centre last night and found a fantastic way to warm myself – watching week!  My goodness, those girls are working so hard they made me sweat just watching them!  I hope all of you braved the cold to get out and watch your dancers show off the moves they’ve mastered so far – and maybe you got a sneak peak at the show routines they’re working on!  I found Miss Jody’s jazz girls jumping as their parents looked on…

Miss Anna’s modern girls were heating up the motion studio last night with their high-flying kicks.  It was toasty warm in there!

These modern girls were just getting warmed up to start moving with Miss Lanie…

While the senior musical theatre girls were strutting their stuff for Miss Robin and their parents last night – that is, once they got past their giggle fits!  It’s hard not to giggle when you’re trying to find the pose that best represents the word ‘squish’.  I got the giggles just watching them!  Good luck girls – I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

If you missed watching week this time don’t fret, the next one is coming up quickly so mark your calendars: December 14 and December 16-19 for all of our full year students, and then January 13-18 for our Winter 8 week dancers!

Bring a friend week is next week at Dance Magic – another fantastic way to warm yourself and a buddy too!  From November 25-28 you can bring a friend to enjoy dance class with you.  Don’t forget to pick up a pink form for your friend to fill out!  They need to bring it to class with them if they want to participate.  This is a great chance for you to share your love of dance with your bestie – or maybe introduce another dancer to your favorite discipline!  As we all know, dance is always more fun when shared with friends – like these 2 little cuties from the show last year!

Speaking of little cuties – a huge thank you to everyone for the fantastic rush on ticket sales for our first ever Daddy Daughter Dance!  Wow, we are so grateful to have had such a wonderful response to this new event – we sold out in 3 days!  It’s going to be a spectacular evening and with the response we received this year I think we’ll definitely have to make this an annual event – hopefully an even bigger one next year!  Did you see the sneak peek of the beautiful napkins we’re making?  Just wait – this is only the tip of the decorating insanity that we have been busily working on the past few weeks!  I can’t wait – it’s going to be such a fun night!  And all the money goes to our Give the Magic scholarship fund, which is such a great cause!

If you want to do some crafting of your own – don’t forget to pick up your Dance Magic star to decorate for our Christmas tree!  Be as wonderfully creative as you can be, use pictures or feathers – beads and bows!  Whatever you wish to make your star as uniquely you as it can be.  That way you can easily spot it on our beautiful tree!

If you’re in a giving mood and want to help someone else have a wonderful holiday this year, stop by the office and ask about our adopt a family!  This is a great way to give back to those in our community and help them to have a happy holiday this year.

Hopefully you’re finding lots of ways to keep warm this winter, as the snow and the cold show no signs of stopping.  So I say, embrace the cold (along with your friends and family, hugs are a great way to warm up!) and stop by the studio to warm your nose and your toes!  Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
