Rules & Culture
We have high expectations for all of our Travelling Troupe students. We go by the “Triple A” rule – Attendance, Attire and Attitude!
ATTENDANCE: Arrive on time, prepared for class attend all rehearsals and performances notify the office if you will be absent No more than THREE absences are permitted per season If you miss a rehearsal, you must hand-write the choreography as well as connect with another student to practice and be caught up before the next rehearsal
ATTIRE: Wear appropriate dance attire with hair tied back. If you are having to fix and fiddle with your outfit constantly – it is NOT appropriate dance attire. Wear appropriate dance shoes (black jazz shoes) No Jewelry, No Gum. No Crop Tops.
ATTITUDE: Help Others – Build them up, not tear them down – even if they aren’t a part of Travelling Troupe or Dance Magic – be aware of body language love yourself – You can do it, ask for help from a friend or teacher if necessary!
OTHER RULES: Students must practice at home between rehearsals in order to be prepared for the next rehearsal and further choreography Students who fail to keep their responsibilities as mentioned above may result in their dismissal from Travelling Troupe
CULTURE: Our Travelling Troupe performance team was created to allow more opportunities for our students to do what they love most – PERFORM! We believe the performance opportunities provided in this program will help your children grow in dance and in LIFE. The increased level of commitment required of Performing Team dancers will push them to practice, build confidence, work as a team and overall, to be the best that they can be! We are passionate about the lessons learned in our performing groups as we have seen the comradery grow between both students, parents and Dance Magic staff alike. Last season, we watched our Performance Team grow into a tight-knit family and we can’t wait to see the relationships and memories continue to blossom among our 2024-25 TEAM! At Dance Magic, we believe the key to success is through believing in your abilities, reaching for the stars and setting GOALS. We understand the impact setting goals can have in pushing us to become the best version of ourselves. Performance opportunities in the community and abroad give this team measurable ways to set goals and achieve their dreams. The essence of a strong TEAM is also something that we believe in here at Dance Magic Studio. A common phrase you’ll hear around the studio is “Team Work, Makes the Dream Work” as we know, this is definitely not a one man show! The same goes for our Performing Groups. Educating our students that teamwork is one of the most important parts of being in a dance troupe is something our instructors and staff work closely with throughout the season. We’ve seen first hand our team come together for various fundraising efforts and community events throughout the year. We trust that this season will continue to teach lessons about the importance of working hard for something that you love! We have already had such a great response to fundraising opportunities and watching these students take initiative to work hard, for something that they want in life, has been one of our greatest joys!
