What inspires you?

My Grandma inspires me because she taught me to be resilient and to always work to make my dreams happen.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

• I would go to Switzerland! I love the mountains, and I have lots of family there

• Lyra or aerial hoop. I love spinning around in the air and learning all the different poses and tricks on the hoop!

• You can always get what you want if you try hard enough!

• Any Cirque du Soleil show because it includes acro, dance, silks, and sometimes lyra!

What is your favourite dance discipline and why?

My favourite dance discipline is acrobatics! This is a discipline that has taught me to have more control and understanding over my body, how to push myself to new limits, and to consistently challenge myself as even when a trick is mastered, there is always a new variation you can try! From a little three year old girl twirling my way into rhythmic gymnastics with a blue ribbon in my hand, to a passionate dance teacher, I preserved my loyalty to acrobatics!

What your favourite quote or catch phrase?

One quote that has caught my attention was from a hockey coach, who said his players “have no ceilings.” This phrase stood out to me as it altered my view of common phrase “the sky is your limit.” It gave me a more clear understanding that you are the one who sets those limits for your thoughts and body, the one who chooses your goals and how high you are willing to reach for them! 

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? 

My ultimate dream would be to travel all over the world as I have an equal interest in mountains and oceans, natural wonders and historical places, modern architectural masterpieces and ancient temples! I would love to learn and discover different traditions and cultures, meet new people, try national dishes! 

What inspires you? 

Everyone and everything inspires me! Whether you wake up to the sun or rain, every morning has the potential to lead you to one of the best days of your life! That in itself, is inspirational to me!

What is your favourite musical or dance performance?

I enjoy watching dance shows on TV, and one of them is a Ukrainian show called “Everyone Dance.” The participants are professional dancers who have a week to prepare a performance in a duet from scratch (choose music, choreography, costumes, props, etc). One of my most favourite performances is a male duet dancing to the song “Money On My Mind” by Sam Smith. This performance left me in awe, because even through a screen, I felt their energy and passion, saw the precision of their movement, and how much they enjoyed each and every step. After seeing this performance, I set my own personal standards as a dancer, to work hard and master tricks in the studio, and have fun and enjoy the dance once it reaches the stage.
