I hope you’re all enjoying the lovely weather! It’s been so nice to see the sunshine, in amidst a few spots of showers. I don’t even mind the rain, it’s just so nice not to have snow anymore!! Are you getting all ready for the summer? I know I am!! We have bunches of fun family trips and activities planned, but I also like to make sure my girls have some fun activities planned for themselves and with their friends over the summer – without the rest of the family! It’s a nice break for them (and a nice break for the parents too…shhhh!). How about you? When my girls were little we planned summer camps and lots of lessons to keep their little dancing bodies busy and in motion. Now that they’re older they still like to do things in the summer, just different things! Last year my little dancer (who is 16 now and not so little!) attended the Dance Extreme Summer camp and it was fantastic! It’s a 3 day long camp at Goldeye Center in Nordegg! If you have a busy dancer, aged 11 and up – this camp is for you! They do so many fun activities – dancing of course, but also canoeing, swimming, hiking, yoga, and even rope climbing! Of course there’s also lots of campfires and s’mores and fantastic food and fun, just like at any camp! I think there are still spots available for this summer’s camp, it’s on the weekend of August 8-10. Here are a few pictures of the fun everyone had last summer!
There are also lots of day camps and fun classes for younger kids, if you’re just looking for a few hours of fun for your dancer over the summer! There are Disney dance camps and Rock Star themes – Dancing Divas and Grooving Guys! There are even music classes if you plan to sing the summer away! Check out the website or stop in the studio if you want more information on any of our summer camps and classes!
Did any of you get a chance to attend our Music Recital last weekend? I heard it was fantastic! Dance Magic has such a wonderful group of talented musical students and the recital is always a great opportunity for them to show off all that they’ve learned over the years. Here are few shots of some of our talented students doing what they do best (Miss Christine has posted even more on our Facebook page!):
These lovely ladies are a part of our Small Group Vocal students!
And how about this father/son duo? What a special moment for these two to share just before Father’s Day!
This sweet little one had her prettiest dress on while she shared her piano talents with everyone.
Of course you don’t want to forget about Dance Magic’s Student Appreciation Day! It’s coming up quickly, on Sunday June 22! You should have received an email with all the details by now, and if you are planning to attend please RSVP before June 15 so we know how many dancers will be in attendance! This is always a fun and fabulous affair – you don’t even need to get dressed for it! Just show up in your PJ’s and have some movie fun with all your favorite Dance Magic people.
And if you need one more fun thing to think about – we’ve started planning for our second annual Daddy Daughter Dance! Last year was a fabulous evening and everyone had a fantastic time! This year promises to be even more fantastic – stay tuned for more details as we get closer, but in the meantime Save The Date – January 31!!
Well I hope that’s enough to keep you all busy for the summer, until regular classes pick up again in September. Speaking of regular classes – the fall schedule is up on the website and pre-registraion for existing students starts on June 26 at the Collicutt Center! Be sure to sign up to get the classes you want for next year!
Happy Summer Everyone!!
