It was another busy weekend for our Dance Magic family as they were spotted out and about all around Red Deer.   Every Saturday morning you can find some of the Dance Magic family under their tent in the Farmer’s market – rain or shine – so be sure to stop by and visit with Miss Mia if you’re there!

This Saturday morning our fearless leader Miss Christine was found announcing athletes at the Woody’s Triathalon Kids of Steel race!  She looked like she was having a blast cheering all those kids on!

Everybody’s favorite elephant, Miss Petunia Pointe, was also on hand to greet her many fans – and she managed to find some of her favorite Dance Magic dancers who had just finished the Triathalon!  Way to go girls!

Of course, our Miss Petunia is not one to just sit around and watch.  However, running, swimming and biking are not her activities of choice – instead I found her spreading her love of dance to her fellow mascots.  She even challenged Bucky the Beaver to a twirl off and tried to teach Woody the Woodpecker to waltz!

Once the kids were finished their race, the mascots decided to get in on the action and challenged each other to a Mini Mascot Marathon! Of course, our Miss Petunia – being the lovely ballerina that she is – had her own unique style of racing.  While the rest of the mascots were warming up for the race – our lovable elephant was busy posing for the paparazzi.

I even found Miss Val attempting to direct the mascots in the correct was to run the race.  Or, in the case of our favorite elephant, the best way to dance across the finish line!

Congratulations to all the kids who competed on Saturday – you all did an amazing job and should be super proud of yourselves!!

For a quick look at Miss Petunia twirling her way across the finish line – check out this youtube video!

But the weekend was not yet finished, and our busy Miss Petunia had yet another engagement on her social calendar!  On Sunday Dance Magic held our annual Student Appreciation Day at Carnival Cinemas – and it was a huge success!!  Over 400 members of our Dance Magic family, all dressed in their pajamas, filled the theatre for a fun filled morning of movies, treats and give-aways!

There were lots of pajama-clad helpers on hand to give out candies and goodies…

along with a few of our favorite teachers – and a teeny tiny Dance Magic baby!

I also found a very proud Grandma helping out – and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our newest Dance Magic baby!!  Check out that baby bump!

Of course Miss Petunia enjoyed finding all of her fans looking especially cozy in their PJ’s!

What a fantastically fun day!  Thanks so much to everyone for coming out and enjoying the morning with Dance Magic – and a huge thank you to all of our Dance Magic family for such a fantastic year of dance!

This Wednesday kicks off fall dance registration with a Pre-Registraion Day for all of our existing students, from 11:00am – 7:00pm in the front foyer of the Collicutt Centre.   Don’t bother downloading a registration form as we will be doing things a little differently this year.  But do remember to bring your $20 registration fee (per family of course!) along with a void cheque if you wish to do automatic withdrawals and cash or a cheque for your costume fees, which are not due until Oct. 24 but may be paid at registration if you wish.  I know a bunch of dancers who are excited to find our what their classes will be in the fall!

Don’t forget – we still have lots of summer camps going on if you love dance and can’t wait until the fall!  Stop by the studio or check out the website for lots of information on the different options available.

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful start to the summer and we’ll see you all at registration!!
