Last weekend was the Dance Extreme camp and from what I heard it was amazing! 30 dancers, as well as Miss Christine, Miss Mia, Miss Robin and Miss Teneal spent the weekend in the wilderness at Camp Goldeye. On Friday we dropped our dancer off and it sounds like they were busy every minute until we met up with them on Sunday evening for a group dinner before departing! There were early morning polar bear dips…
And picturesque afternoon canoe rides in the sun.
Nature hikes with lots of friendly helping hands..
And evening treats around the campfire.
Miss Robin kept everyone dancing..
And Miss Teneal ended their busy days with yoga in the field.
There were even some brave girls flying high up in the air on the rope course, or climbing their way up the climbing wall! I’m not sure I would be that brave – good for them!
By the time we arrived on Sunday to share a delicious lasagna dinner, everyone looked happy and exhausted. Lucky for us they girls had just enough energy left to put on a performance for us of the different dances they had learned. Yes, apparently even with all the other outdoor activities they still managed to find the time to learn new choreography and dance for a number of hours each day. I was so impressed with what they mastered in such a short time!
What a perfect way to end a wonderful weekend! It sounds like an amazing experience was had by everyone, and I heard lots of talk of how much they’re all looking forward to next year! Lots of wonderful memories were made and fast friendships were formed that I am sure will last in the new dance season.
Speaking of the new dance season, have you registered for your classes yet? I heard a rumour that they are filling quickly!! Our DM team is out in force at the Collicutt on Tuesday mornings, at the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, or you can contact them at the North Studio if you have any questions at all. I know, it’s hard to think about fall when they weather is finally looking like summer – but it will be here before you know it! I know the dancers in my house can not wait for classes to start!
In case you didn’t get enough info here about the Dance Extreme camp – check out the Dance Magic facebook page. Miss Christine has posted over 300 pictures there and you can see just how much fun was had by everyone!
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer because the fall will be here before we know it – see you soon!
